What is SASSMAQ?

The SASSMAQ is a System Security Assessment, Health, Environment and Quality, prepared by the Commission's Transport ABIQUIM directed to the Logistics Services for Chemicals and Petrochemicals, hazardous and non hazardous offered by road transport companies for Chemical Industry associated ABIQUIM. The questions and answers aim to clarify common questions about this program.

As the process is done by an independent Certification Body, accredited by INMETRO, this gives greater independence and credibility to the Evaluation System.?


What are the organizations involved in SASSMAQ?


ABIQUIM: Brazilian Association of Chemical Industry. Responsible for managing the SASSMAQ, maintains and revises the system of assessment, establishing criteria for the system and maintains the database of Companies Evaluating and Certifying Bodies and Auditors Qualified.

How does the implementation of SASSMAQ?

Policy Definition Integrated Quality, Safety and Environmental Health for the company.
Definition of Systematic Critical Analysis and Evaluation System of continuous improvement of the system and plans of actions required.
Identification of applicable legal requirements.
Issuance of the Manual for Integrated SASSMAQ.
Issuance of Driver's Manual.
Systematic definition of the following:


Document Control and Records System.
Resource management including definition of the training program for managers, supervisors and other employees, job descriptions and their records.
Setting objectives and goals of the Integrated Management System for SASSMAQ and specifically for their representatives.
Research, analysis, reporting non-conformities, accidents / incidents, corrective and preventive actions.
Recruitment Policy for drivers, effective, temporary or contacted, including discipline and its legal requirements and prohibition of drugs and alcohol.
Internal Communications with the use of bulletin board.
Internal audits, defining the qualifications of auditors and control of corrective actions required.
Specific procedure for use of personal protective equipment for each function.
Specific procedure for preparedness and response to emergencies, including periodic training, with performance of simulated.
Specific procedure for occupational health to identify health risks, according to the Control Program and Medical and Occupational Health - PCMSO - and the risks identified in the Program of Environmental Risk Prevention - PPRA.
Systematic maintenance and receive information on products carried or handled, according to Information Sheet on Chemical Safety - MSDS.
Definition of the Control Program and Medical Examination and Monitoring Medical Journal.
Procedures and Methods of Control and Management Waste Disposal.
Program Control and Prevention spills or leaks.


Quality Manual and Procedures, including:


Manual according to ISO 9000.
Defining the structure and communication lines of the organization.
Systematics for the purchase of materials, and services, with evaluation and selection of suppliers.
Definition of the specification and method of hiring vehicles.
Contract review or according to customers with control method of processing orders from customers.


Control equipment, including:


Method of preventive maintenance equipment.
Method and definition of inspection equipment.
Identification and calibration of measuring equipment.


Control of the operation, including:


Definition of operating instructions, including loading and unloading.
Route planning for receiving and delivering.
Setting check list before traveling to surrender control of the operation, planning travel and daily communication with the driver.
Records of orders for loading, unloading and cleaning certificates.
Method and control of insurance.


Procedures and standards for property security, including access control.
Procedures and methods for on-site inspections, including buildings, land and fixed equipment.
Issue of procedures (Level 2) defining appropriate working methods of the systematic SASSMAQ where applicable.
Any training that may be needed throughout the process, by prior agreement with management.
At the end of this process, the company should be prepared for Audit Assessment, to be held by the certifying body chosen by the company.
